Provenance:
This lamp was purchased from City of Paris Dry Goods Co around 1930.
The City of Paris Dry Goods Company was one of San Francisco's important department stores from 1850 to 1972, located diagonally opposite Union Square. In the mid-20th century, it opened a few branches in other cities of the Bay Area.

Description:
Elegant Antique French
Neoclassical Revival table lamp with relief-mounted urn form base (brass and burgundy pottery) and hand-painted parchment shade featuring Louis XVI style ribbon and floral motifs, circa 1910-1940s.

The bottom brass plate is stamped made in France.
The electrical brass sockets are stamped Benjamin 250 W 250 V. This slso dates it to the early part of 20th century.
The hand painted parchment shade resembles the brass relief in the urn form. The layers in the shade match the layers in the base…

100% original:
hand painted parchment laced shade, burgundy pottery and brass relief base, plug, electrical components and finial.
The only component replaced was the cord as the original cloth wiring was worn. The new cord is an invisible wire and is extra long 6+ feet.
This lamp is very heavy so shipping will be pricey. I’m estimating $125 due to the weight and shade size. Anything under this amount will be returned to you via PayPal.
This is a really special lamp and displays beautifully. Please see all the photos as they accurately describe the item.
The only damage to the lamp is on 2 pottery pieces that look like they were dinged. The painted shade color matches the touchups on the base. There’s only two sections where the base has been dinged so please see photos. The other white marks are flash or sunlight glares. The photos that show the dings are the last two.
This lamp and shade are in great shade. It was well loved.
Lamp height to finial: 26.5 inches.
Shade dimension: 11 x 11 x 18
