This is a brand new Hornby R30157 BR RailfreightClass 60 Co-Co 60002 Capability Brown in Railfreight Tripple Grey Petroleum livery as the loco was first introduced to traffic. This model is DCC Ready with a 21 pin socket, capable of negotiating 2nd Radius Curves 438mm.
The model is brand new from the manufacturer and is being sold to raise funds towards the restoration of BR Class 50 diesel 50030 Repulse based at Peak Rail.
The Class 60 's were the last diesel locos built for BR, the locos were built by Brush Traction, the first loco entering service in June 1989 with the class eventually totalling 100 machines in four years time. Sectorisation was in full swing when the class entered service, resulting in them carrying various versions of the Railfreight tripple Grey Livery. This model of 60002 shows the loco in the Petroleum version of the livery that it entered service in, delivered to BR in 1989, due to the many teething troubles experienced, and the need to do 1000 hours trouble free running, 60002 was not accepted until 1992. The loco was renamed High Peak in 1998 and would see service with EWS, Colas and finally GB Railfreight.
