This process not only preserves the natural grain and color but also elevates them, making stabilized wood ideal for applications requiring both beauty and strength—such as luxury pen making.

Each Spectra Fusion pen begins with professionally stabilized maple burl, chosen for its intricate grain patterns and unique character. The stabilization process results in a wood that is hard, dense, and resistant to environmental stresses. On its own, this stabilized burl would already be suitable for precision work and detailed carving, capable of holding fine edges and showcasing vibrant hues.

However, the Spectra Fusion Collection takes innovation a step further by fusing the stabilized wood with hand-poured epoxy resin. This fusion creates a hybrid material that is both structurally superior and visually dynamic. The epoxy—pigmented, layered, or swirled—is poured to enhance and interact with the wood’s natural figure, filling voids and creating translucent layers with jewel-like depth. The use of vacuum-degassing ensures the epoxy is free of bubbles and achieves a flawless bond with the stabilized wood. Once cured, this hybrid is even stronger than stabilized wood alone, offering added structural integrity while preserving the tactile warmth of genuine timber.

The collection is available in two writing modes: fountain pens, featuring precision-engineered JoWo stainless steel nibs (Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub & Omniflex) or optional 14kt gold nibs (Fine, Medium & Omniflex) and GEL rollerball pens, compatible with standard international refills for everyday convenience. Each fountain pen is equipped to use either ink cartridges or the included threaded converter. Every nib and plasma-treated feeder are meticulously tested to ensure exceptional ink flow, writing precision, and a smooth, responsive feel.
