The D.H.100 Vampire Fighter Is A Jet Fighter Developed By The British De Havilland Company And British Electric Company. It Was Finalized In April 1945 And Entered Service In 1946. The Aircraft Inherits The Traditional Wooden Cockpit Of De Havilland Mosquito Aircraft And Adopts A Double Tail Beam Aerodynamic Layout To Cope With The Problem Of Insufficient Thrust Of The Originally Planned De Havilland Goblin Engine. Eventually, It Is Equipped With The H-1 Jet Engine From The American Company For Halford, With A Maximum Speed Of 854km/H. Its Structure Integrates Four 20mm Machine Guns, An Engine, And A Cockpit Into A Central Nacelle, Connected To The Two Tail Beams Through A Small Sweep Angle Trapezoidal Single Wing. As The Second Jet Fighter In The Uk And The World'S First Jet Fighter To Achieve Carrier Takeoff And Landing, Its Derivative Models Include Fighter Bombers, Night Fighters, And Trainer Planes, With A Total Production Of 3268 Aircraft. Although The Vampire Fighter Missed World War Ii, It Still Served As A Frontline Fighter In The Royal Air Force Until 1955 And Continued To Be Used Until Its Retirement In 1966. Vampire Fighters Participated In Military Operations In Places Such As The Malay Peninsula And Kenya, And Were Exported To Countries Such As Switzerland, Canada, And Egypt. The De Havilland Vampire Is The Second Jet Fighter To Enter Service In The Uk After Gloster Meteor Fighter, And Also The First Single Engine Jet Fighter Of The Royal Air Force. The Improved Model FB.MK.IX Is Equipped With An Air Conditioning System, And The Maximum Speed Of The Mk.VI Has Been Increased To 882km/H After Being Replaced With The Gobin 3 Engine. The Naval Model Achieved The First Takeoff And Landing Of Jet Fighters On Aircraft Carriers, And The F.Mk.III Became The First Transatlantic Jet Fighter In The UK.
