This is a brand new Airfix A02070A 58 piece plastic kit that builds up into an excellent 1:72 scale model of an F4F-4 Wildcat. 

The completed model is 122mm long x 160mm wide.

The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the US Navy's primary carrier borne fighter aircraft aat the start of the 2nd World War. Characterised by its stubby appearance the Wildcat had been developed from Grumman's successful range of pre-war biplanes and had entered service ith the US Navy a year prior to the Japanease raid on Pearl Harbour.By the time of the crucial battles for Midway and Guadalcanal the F4F-4model had become the most numerous varient and new tacticsenabled American Naval and marine pilots to gain the upper handon the previously all-conquering Mitsubishi Zero.

The model is brand new from the manufacturer and is being sold to raise funds towards the restoration of BR Class 50 diesel 50030 Repulse, based at Peak Rail.
