The phrase "Tim Cotterill snake attack" is an identical misnomer for "Snack Attack", a highly collectible, limited-edition, solid bronze frog sculpture created by British artist Tim Cotterill, widely known as The Frogman. The artwork features no reptiles and depicts an amphibian hunting an insect.
Sculpture Details and Legacy
The Subject: A vibrant, whimsically posed frog stretching out from a blade of grass to catch a small ladybug.
Official Catalog Number: Designated officially by the artist as 56/5000.
Release History: Originally introduced to the public in 2005 with a primary limited run of 5,000 pieces.
Retirement: The main edition was retired on June 3, 2016. A highly exclusive 75-piece "Fern" variation, featuring a patterned bright green silver nitrate patina, was released shortly after to commemorate its retirement.
Dimensions: A compact centerpiece measuring 5.25" H x 5.25" W x 5.375" D.
The piece is in excellent condition with no damage, issues, or flaws. We rated it 9.8 out of a perfect 10.
About Tim Cotterill:
Tim Cotterill is a British-born sculptor based in Venice, California, who uses an ancient "lost wax" casting process to create his work. His sculptures are famous for their brilliant, glass-like patinas and whimsical poses that aim to bring joy to collectors.
