Krytox XHT BD GREASE
High temperature grease thermally stable up to +400°C
Krytox XHT-BD is a specially developed high-performance lubricant for extremely high temperature environments. Krytox XHT-BD grease contains a special non-melting, high temperature thickener with a very low evaporation base oil.
Fats and oils from the Krytox ™ XHT line can also be used at peak temperatures up to +400 °C be used
Krytox XHT-BD is non-flammable, oxygen-safe and chemically inert. Krytox XHT-BD greases are designed for use when temperatures are in the range of -70 to +360 °C and higher where there is a risk of melting the standard PTFE thickener.
- Non-flammable: Krytox™ Performance lubricants contain only carbon, oxygen and fluorine. Since there is no hydrogen present, they neither burn nor support combustion, even in 100% liquid or gaseous oxygen.
- Chemically non-reactive: Krytox™ Performance lubricants are not only resistant to oxygen, but also inactive to almost Allen chemicals. They do not dissolve in most solvents, with the exception of highly fluorinated liquids and some very critical liquids such as CO₂.
- Thermally and oxidatively stable: In the absence of air, deterioration occurs at approximately +470°C according to differential thermal analysis. When tested under nitrogen at +371°C for 6 hours, Krytox ™ Lubricants showed no increase in neutralization number or significant change in viscosity. Presence of air does not significantly lower the decomposition point of Krytox ™ oils.
