This genuine ancient Roman tetradrachm was struck during the reign of Emperor Elagabalus (AD 218–222). The obverse typically features a radiate, draped bust of Elagabalus with Greek legends identifying him as emperor. On the reverse, tetradrachms commonly depict an eagle standing on a thunderbolt, symbolizing imperial power and Jupiter. Struck in billon (a silver–bronze alloy), these coins reflect the economic conditions and provincial minting traditions of the Eastern Roman Empire.
