A copy of The Ritual of the Woodmen of the World, a small handbook for members of the fraternal order that later became the WoodmenLife insurance company.

It's hard to gauge how many versions of this text were made and how they differ. This copy in particular was scanned for a digital archive recently and is 113 pages long, excluding blank pages.

The copyright is listed as 1907, however the text at the bottom of the title page contains "12-28-29", likely the date of printing or intended printing, meaning this was probably made at the end of 1929 and intended to serve as the version used by members of the Woodmen of the World in 1930. A union stamp also reads "Trade Union Label Council: Allied Printing Ohama 7" which almost certainly means Ohama, Nebraska which is where the Woodmen group was originally founded.

The cover and spine are blank, and if there ever was a dust jacket I don't have it. The binding is quite stiff and rigid when turning pages and the cover has become partially detached around the spine. There's no pages missing and although there are stains, folds and a few small tears, everything is legible and the few graphs and pieces of art are intact.

Page 19 does have a "Corrections" note pasted onto the page by a previous owner. One side of the note isn't attached and can be peeled back to read the text the correction covered up. The note likely could be removed with some minor prying, but I didn't want to risk tearing the page and have left it as is.
