In 1982, media mogul Ted Turner uttered the phrase “I Was Cable When Cable Wasn’t Cool” to emphasize his pioneering presence in the world of cable television. The quote went “viral” or whatever the 1982 version of viral was. This poster was created as an ad for the new all news network, CNN.
Fun fact on the provenance of this framed poster: it originally hung on the wall in the TV Guide hallway in the 80s and 90s.
It is professionally framed (thanks to TV Guide), and the poster and frame are in excellent shape. There does appear to be a dead insect that got into the frame somehow; I was not going to pull the back off and ruin the framing to remove it. There’s a close-up of this detail.
Because of the professional framing, I’m selling this with the frame. It will make shipping more expensive.
Framed poster measures 18 x 24 inches.
