Description A beautiful English antique 19th Century Victorian solid sterling silver bosuns boatswain whistle by the silversmiths Hilliard & Thomason (1850 - 1907), in lovely condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1878. Excellent quality and a genuine 148 years old, (not a modern re-production), decorated with attractive period engraving and is complete with its original silver attachment ring. Measures approx 4.45 inches (111mm) in length x 0.75 inches (18mm) wide, and is in good working order and make a strong sound when blown. Further decorated in the cartouche with a nice historic engraved monogram of the original owner.
Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1878, (date letter "d"). Good readable silver marks including the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria and the silversmiths initials are "H & T", (Hilliard & Thomason - 1850 - 1907).
Condition Lovely condition with no nasty knocks or dents, just typical minor teeny little surface bruises from use and possibly has a tiny historic repair on the barrel, honestly nothing much at all (definitely all secure) and a very nice genuine antique 19th Century example. Beautifully decorated and still in good working order and has its large silver attachment ring.
