Early 20th century Amati model violin, likely German trade (c. 1910s). Set up, repaired, and ready to play. Comes with an older pernambuco bow and a basic case.
This one surprised me - It’s got a really nice, focused sound with some depth; it's easy to get along with under the ear and I end up choosing to play it more than I expected.
Would make a good spare violin, and it's also a solid, affordable instrument for a student.
It’s had a fair amount of work over the years—several crack repairs and some extesive pegbox repair. Most of that was done before I had it (it came out of a shop’s rental/loaner fleet). The work isn’t pretty, but it’s holding fine (more of a “keep it going” shop style than a cosmetic restoration). I did replace one pegbox bushing; everything else predates me.
AUDIO SAMPLE: Mobile users, make sure your phone volume is on, video volume is on, too. I get some messages saying the audio "doesn't work," so I just trying to help anyone out who has that trouble. Despite the repair history, it plays well and sounds like an older instrument should. The recording is just me playing it, not a pro, so what you hear is pretty honest.
Sold as-is. Take a close look at the photos for condition and repair details. Open to offers. If someone wants to put a bit more money into it, I can swap strings, fit geared pegs, or tweak setup.
