Sheet dimensions: approx. 45.0 x 35.0 cm. -- well preserved. || Rare large format lithograph by Adolph Friedrich Kunike after Jakob Alt (1789-1872) from 1824. -- in good condition. || Adolph Friedrich Kunike was a German-Austrian lithographer, draftsman and publisher. He was born in Greifswald in 1777. He was a student at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. From 1808 to 1810 he studied history painting in Rome. In 1816 Kunike met Alois Senefelder in Munich. A year later he opened his own lithographic company in Vienna. He primarily published portraits and landscape views. His best-known and most extensive work was the two hundred and four and sixty views of the Danube following the course of the Danube from its origin to its outflow into the Black Sea. The templates largely came from Jakob Alt (1789-1872). Adolph Friedrich Kunike died in Vienna in 1838. || This is an original! - No emphasis! - Not a copy! -- This is an original!
