This 1969 Ford Shelby GT500 SportsRoof represents one of the most iconic muscle cars of its eraa perfect blend of raw power, striking design, and Shelby performance heritage. Finished in its rare Special Paint Competition Red, this GT500 is one of only 89 examples produced in this color, making it an especially desirable collector's car. The bold exterior lines, aggressive hood scoops, and signature Shelby detailing highlight the distinctive personality that set the GT500 apart from the standard Mustangs of the time.

Under the hood lies its numbers-matching 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet V8, factory-rated at 335 horsepower but known to deliver far more in true Shelby fashion. Paired with a C6 Select Shift automatic transmission, this drivetrain provides effortless power and a commanding driving experience that captures the spirit of late-'60s American performance. The car's mechanicals have been beautifully restored to factory specifications, maintaining the authenticity and integrity that collectors and enthusiasts alike appreciate.

The interior continues the theme of performance luxury, featuring a Black Knit bucket seat cabin that remains faithful to its original presentation. The Sport Deck rear seat adds versatility, while the classic Shelby touchessuch as the woodgrain accents, full instrumentation, and Cobra emblems, create a cockpit that's both functional and stylish. Power steering and power front disc brakes further enhance drivability, offering a balance between comfort and control.

A comprehensive Marti Report accompanies the car, verifying its authenticity, production details, and factory specifications. This documentation, combined with its numbers-matching components and rare color combination, makes this GT500 a highly collectible and investment-worthy example. Every detail, from the paint finish to the trim and emblemsreflects the level of care that went into its restoration.

With just 64,000 miles on the odometer, this beautifully restored Shelby GT500 stands as a testament to the golden age of Ford performance. It offers an opportunity to own not only a piece of American automotive history but one of the most celebrated names in muscle car lore. For the enthusiast seeking originality, rarity, and unmistakable Shelby power, this GT500 delivers on every level.

About Garage Kept Motors

Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.

For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.

For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen though we do recommend to check the vehicle out in person or have a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) done. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
