Offered for purchase is a very unique piece of original art by NM artist Chris Spanovich. Known for her pottery and gorgeous earrings, this is a framed piece of abstract mixed media. A piece of copper and rusted metal are the focal point against a background of paper featuring Japanese script. It is signed by the artist on the bottom right hand corner (photo 3). This would make an excellent addition to any abstract art collection.
There is also an informative sheet on the back of the frame, dating the piece has from 2002, however it is untitled. The materials listed include handmade paper, rust, and copper. The paper source is also noted to be from Nepal and Japan.
Condition: The previous owner put this artwork into a shadow box frame (upside down). This is likely an easy fix, but I will leave all alterations to the new owner. There are numerous spots on the frame where the black paint has flecked away with age, or there are minor scratches. Dust accumulation is also noticeable on the outside and possibly inside the frame. The glass could use a little TLC as well. If it were me, I would probably reframe the piece entirely. Please inspect ALL photos - they are part of the description, and I photographed the piece from numerous angles.
