This is an outstanding old mask imported from the Igbo people of Nigeria. It is an Okoroshi dance mask worn to honor water spirits for a good harvest as well as ancestral spirits at funerals. It has been carved from wood, adorned with pigments and measures approximately 11” in height, 8” in width by 5” in depth.
