Edo period ca. 1670 era made blade.

Antique fittings.

Modern mount

The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches and flaws.

This sword is great for someone who wants nihoto on a budget.  It is a katana in an old polish and antique fittings.  The blade is diminished over time and shows flaws, scuffs, and other issues but it is still strait and sharp.  The mount features antique fittings but the overall execution is a bit amateurish. It is usable and looks nice but lacks the refinement you see on very high end examples.

Why buy this?

If you have always wanted a real Japanese katana, not a reproduction but the real thing, then this is that but on the low end.  You can appreciate the metalwork in the blade and fittings.  You can use it for iaido and feel history in your hands as you practice.   It is a real usable sword on a budget.  Suitable for a new collector, iaido, or wall art.
