Original 1st Edition hand-coloured Geological Map of Perth & Clackmannanshire, Sheet 133, covering Alva, Menstrie, Blairlogie, Tullibody, Sauchie, and the Ochil Hills, at a scale of six inches to one statute mile. Surveyed by British Geological Survey pioneers Sir Archibald Geikie and Benjamin Neeve Peach, it was published in 1878 by Sir Andrew Crombie Ramsay, Director General. Printed on linen-backed thick paper, the map measures about 91cm x 61cm, with titles, notes, legends, and a scale bar in the wide margins; the full sheet is roughly 97cm x 65cm. It’s in good condition, though overmarked in places with a few small edge tears (see photos). Perfect for framing and of interest to local historians or collectors.
