ARCHET Violin Bow (Intermediate), Japan, 4/4 - Pernambuco
High quality intermediate bow by Archet a Tokio handcrafted in Japan. Round stick is made from better quality Pernambuco wood. Ebony frog is fully mounted in German-silver.
Archet, a wholly owned business of Bunkyo-Gakki, is one of two Japan's leading makers of high quality bows for stringed instruments. Its bows are praised for their flawless craftsmanship, quality materials, and superb playing characteristics. While the company produces a wide range of bow grades -- from student to performing soloist -- even the entry level models are quite expensive, reflecting the Company's reputation and the popularity of its bows.
This intermediate grade Archet bow was made in the late 2010s. The bow was originally purchased for an equivalent of approximately US$550 and is in very good, gently used condition (there is no visible wear on the thumb leather).
The bow is medium-strong and has good elasticity and bounce. It is properly balanced, with a balancing point of approximately 7 1/2 inches.
At this price, this will be an excellent practice bow for the intermediate or advanced player.
