An antique reproduction of what I believe is called a Vapheio cup. This particular cup appears to be from the very early 20th century as it is impressed to the base E Gillieron Athenes. In 1894 Emile Gillieron established a business with WMF to manufacture replicas of archaeological artefacts for sale to museums. There is a lot of information about Emile Gillieron online. Cups such as this with the same impressed mark are held in museums around the world.
Condition. An extremely minor little ding to the underside near the impressed name which I will mention for accuracy but the only issue of note is that there is a lot of wear to the silver plate which allows the copper to show through both internally and externally. The cup is rather tarnished particularly on the inside. I am not sure the wear to the silver plate overly detracts as the copper showing through gives the cup a lovely old look.
Approx size. Max height 7.5cm. Max diameter across the top (excluding the handle) is just over 10cm. Max diameter of the base is 7.75cm.
