Up for grabs is a proper piece of British baking history: an original mid-century Procea loaf tin from the 1950s!
Procea was a popular bread brand back in the day (known for “Procea bread” – the name would imprint on the crust when baked). These tins were used commercially and at home, with the raised lettering on the base and sides designed to brand the loaf. The word “PROCEA” is clearly stamped inside – a lovely retro advertising touch that makes this more than just a baking tin. Made of sturdy metal (likely tin-plated steel), it shows genuine age-related character:
• Beautiful rusty patina overall – lots of worn, weathered charm • Some surface rust and scratches (as you’d expect from decades of use) • No major dents or holes – still solid and fully usable • Classic rectangular shape with rolled edges Measurements (approx, external): • Length: 20 cm (about 8 inches) • Width: 10 cm (about 4 inches) • Height: 7–8 cm (about 3 inches) (perfect standard small/medium loaf size)
