Kidde recommends a CO alarm be installed on each level of the home - ideally on any level with fuel burning appliances and outside of sleeping areas. - see User Guide for further information.

Kidde recommends, at a minimum, that a smoke alarm be installed in each bedroom of the home and nearby each bedroom. Additionally, Kidde recommends at least one (1) smoke alarm be installed on each level of the home. In new constructions, 240V mains-powered smoke alarms are required. - see User Guide for further information.

Leading authorities recommend that both ionisation and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home. Ionisation sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionisation alarms.
The purchaser is exempt from any regulatory requirements. This apparatus is designed to protect individuals from acute effects of Carbon Monoxide exposure. It will not fully safeguard individuals with specific medical conditions. If in doubt consult a Medical Practitioner. Individuals with medical problems may consider using warning devices which provide audible and visual signals for carbon monoxide concentrations under 30 ppm. A Carbon Monoxide alarm is not a substitute for a smoke alarm or a combustible gas detector.
Replacement Batteries: Energizer 522, Duracell MN or MX 1604, Gold Peak 1604A. Replacement batteries are available where you purchased this alarm.
**Warning:** Battery door will not close if battery is not correctly installed. Removal of battery will prevent the alarm from working.
