Condition Details

Body & Sole: The cast iron body is intact with no visible cracks or repairs. It features a beautiful original patina with some surface oxidation/rust typical of its age. The sole is smooth and ready for lapping.

Handles: The original rosewood handles are present. Please note that the rear tote (handle) has a stable horizontal crack near the base that appears to be an old repair (see photos). It remains firm and functional.

Mechanicals: All moving parts, including the brass depth adjustment nut and the lateral adjustment lever, appear to be in working order and move freely.

Iron (Blade): Features the clear "Sweetheart" SW logo. The blade has plenty of life left but will require sharpening/honing to be "user-ready".

Collector's Note

This is an excellent "as-found" candidate for restoration or for a collector seeking an early Sweetheart example with all original period-correct parts.
