JUNIOR MISS METAL LUNCHBOX from Aladdin Industries 1956. This very rare R-6 is the 1st Junior Miss lunchkit by AL (out of seven) of this longest-running lunchbox series of all time (25 years). As such – it is a key kit for the lunchbox collector. A clean and simple design by AL’s first artistic director Bob Burton - who was behind most of AL’s boxes in the 50’s including the first fully lithographed box of Hopalong Cassidy. Bob also created such industrial pop items as the Kentucky Fried Chicken Logo. Features the same lithographed art on front and back with a butterfly and flowers - and pink and blue ribbon around the rims. The thermos decals carry over the theme with a dragonfly replacing the butterfly. An early and key kit for the serious collector and for the discerning young lady.
Condition: Box and thermos are complete and correct (including original wire thermos holder). Box main front and rear panels are clean and glossy throughout. Rim panels are also clean with minor rubbings. Light rim wear - with no corner dents or dimples. Metal hardware is nice and shiny. Inside of box is also very clean - with no prior owner markings. Box in overall Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. Thermos lithos are clean and glossy throughout with light rubbings - with no dents or dimpes - very light rattle when shaken - nice shiny bottom - also in Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition.
