Up for sale is a super funky, rare Vintage Sabina Automatic Super Compressor Dive Watch measuring 39mm across (without crown) and around 43.5mm longways (lugs sit slightly under case for more comfort).
The watch is equipped with automatic Cal. ETA 2772, a screw-down crown, and a bidirectional clicking rotating bezel. Case, bezel, and dial are in great shape and all functions work perfectly. I bought/imported this watch serviced last year from a watchmaker in the UK who installed a sapphire crystal to ensure water resistance but stated that, otherwise, the watch was all original. I personally do not let water touch any vintage watches I own and don’t recommend it here but wanted to pass this along.
These are pretty rare but do pop up occasionally for sale by European sellers. I have never seen one for sale in the US and this one is in great condition. It’s unpolished and still retains factory finish! This is a great opportunity to pick one up stateside. Perfect funky vintage watch for summer.
The Sabina brand itself was known for a few sought after Valjoux chronographs (the 420 yachting which comes up from time to time among others) along with these amazing super compressors. I fell in love with the orange/pink design on this immediately when I saw it. It’s just not something you see every day. Tritium lume is also intact!
As a fun bit of trivia, this one in particular uses the exact same case as the highly sought after (and pricey) Favre Leuba Deep Sea Roulette Super Compressor of the same time period (60s/70s).
Worn sparingly. Nothing wrong with it. See pictures! I also have a few extra band links that I’ll include! Shown on a 6.75 inch wrist.
