Up for your consideration is a True First Edition "Beverly Gray's Challenge" written by Clair Blank in 1945. It has the original text. This is a true first edition of the popular Beverly Gray book.
Beautiful front dj cover with bright unfaded colors by the talented artist Russell Tandy. There is a no notable edgewear to the spine.
There is very little wear to the dj copy aside from some minor soiling to the back cover of the dj.
It really displays lovely in its' detachable mylar cover. It has a plain frontispiece.
It lists on the front flap to the Beverly Gray title PRIOR to this one "Beverly Gray's Adventure". There are some titles underlined.
This first edition has WWII paper which while browning is supple and not brittle at all.
The synopsis of the story is Beverly Gray sets off with friends in her car from New York to Montana.
Beverly inherited a ranch. The girls encounter many problems by someone who is probably after the ranch himself.
(-John Axe "Guide to Collecting Girls' Series Books")
It meets all the points of a true first edition of "Beverly Gray's Challenge".
The back flap of the dj lists a Cherry Ames blurb. The dj's back cover lists to Judy Bolton's "Mark on the Mirror".
The book is a bright green in terrific shape with a little corner bumping. I am not familiar with the endpapers.
All in all a beautiful copy with little wear. Please see the photos. I took a number of them so you could see for yourself. I'd rate the dj as Near Fine- and the book the same.
Don't let it get away! I don't even want to sell this copy. I go out of my way to find the books in the nicest condition available. I genuinely appreciate people who send me their hard-earned money so I like to give out freebies.
This book comes from a critter-infested home (one rambunctious little kitten).
Of course, I'll combine shipping.
Any questions?
I wrap nicely and I ship fast.
Thanks!
