I personally designed and custom-made these engine covers using 356A aluminum with a sand casting process. They feature a shot-peened finish for a durable, matte texture. A specific mounting method is required to install them on your stock intake, so please read the instructions below carefully and review the photos above to see how the cover fits and functions.
Installation Instructions – LS Engine Cover (Stock Truck Intake)
Steps:
-
Prepare the Engine:
-
Ensure the engine is cool before starting.
-
Remove the Stock Cover (if equipped):
-
Use the socket or screwdriver to remove any bolts holding the OEM engine cover in place.
-
Lift off the stock cover carefully and set aside with its bolts.
-
Clean the Surface:
-
Wipe the intake manifold surface with a clean rag to remove dust, dirt, or oil.
-
This ensures the new cover sits flush and looks clean.
-
Position the Custom Cover:
-
Align the new LS engine cover over the stock intake manifold.
-
Make sure any bolt holes or mounting points match the intake deck.
-
Secure the Cover:
-
Insert the supplied bolts (or reuse stock bolts if compatible).
-
Tighten evenly using a socket or screwdriver — do not over-tighten, just snug so the cover is secure.
-
Reconnect Any Hoses or Wires:
-
Reattach any vacuum lines, PCV hoses, or electrical connections that were temporarily moved.
-
Final Check:
-
Ensure the cover sits evenly and clears any throttle linkages or wiring.
-
Start the engine and visually check for any interference or vibrations.
Tips:
-
Most custom LS covers are bolt-on and require no modification.
-
If the cover is tight, check for clearance around the throttle body and fuel rails.
-
Wipe the cover clean after installation to remove fingerprints or dust.
