A 10x8" vintage photo from a large collection of hand signed photographs of World War 2 P-51 Mustang Aces that we acquired from a major auction house.
The collector hunted down the autographs of hundreds of fighter pilots over a period of decades, and we are happy to guarantee/warranty the authenticity of this signature.
Most of the photographs from this collection were later reprints or digital reproductions and should not be assumed to be original.
Note: in some cases pilots used Nazi symbols to indicate kills on their planes. Since eBay prohibits us from showing such symbols in photos we have covered them up in photos posted. The photo you receive will have these kill symbols of course.
Professionally packaged in a rigid mailer for safe delivery.
Photo Overview
Captain Richard W. “Dick” Creamer of the 352nd Fighter Group’s 487th Fighter Squadron, famed “Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney,” looks out from the cockpit of his P-51 Mustang during a 1944 sortie from RAF Bodney, Norfolk, England. Creamer is dressed in standard USAAF flight gear—B-8 goggles, A-11 leather helmet, shearling-collared B-10 jacket with the Army Air Forces roundel—and has personally inscribed and signed the upper right of the photograph.
Creamer earned nine confirmed aerial victories and the Silver Star before war’s end; portraits of him are far scarcer than those of higher-profile 352nd aces such as Preddy or Whisner. Collectors prize autographs from this elite, blue-nosed unit, and with the veteran pool now gone, fresh signatures will never surface again—secure this piece of living history today.
