Caius Sallustius Crispus. Opera. Edited with notes by Joseph Wasse.
Cambridge: Cornelium Crownfield, 1710.
Two parts bound in one volume. Large quarto (about 6x8.5”).
Bound in contemporary calf with raised bands. Binding remains solid and attractive overall, with some splitting beginning at the lower front joint and general wear consistent with age. Front free endpaper torn at the corner with staining to the front endpapers; staining does not extend past the title page. The text block is generally clean and crisp, with most pages bright; some early and middle leaves slightly toned.
A handsome early Cambridge scholarly edition of the works of the Roman historian Sallust, edited by Joseph Wasse and long regarded as an important classical edition.
