Vintage 1942 Parker Vacumatic Major fountain pen, striped cap jewel, restored and ready to write!

Collector's note: This pen and its cap are technically "incorrect" for each other. The pen itself is a third-generation Vacumatic Major, with a plastic filler plunger covered by a streamlined, jewel-less blind cap. This version of the Major would typically sport a black cap jewel. The cap, however, carries a matching striped jewel characteristic of the second-generation Major, which had the aluminum Speedline filler and a jeweled blind cap, and it does not post properly on this pen. This "incorrect" combination could be the result of cap-swapping. However, it is worth noting that the transition from second- to third generation design happened in 1942—due to the need to conserve materials for the war effort—and this pen may have been made as early as April of that year, just four months after the U.S. entered the war. It could represent an effort by Parker to use up existing parts before fully committing to the new design. This was a common practice among pen manufacturers at the time.

This pen has been restored to proper working order and beautiful appearance, tested with high-quality fountain pen ink, and hand polished.
