This vintage small hinged box-chest is completely handmade of wood in 1990s in USSR/ Belarus at Belarusian Arts and Crafts Factory located in Zhlobin City. It is decorated with straw. Look what kind of skill is involved in this work!!!! Each piece of straw is hand cut and glued on the wooden surface by the Belarusian artist. If you look carefully you will see that each peace of straw is slightly different because it was cut by hand not by machinery; from other hand the pieces are very similar because of high skill of the artists. Can you imagine how much time was spent to make this box? The interior of the box is beautifully lined with blue color fabric. You can use it for jewelry or any other purposes. These boxes are wonderful gifts for any occasion. Also, they are very collectible because they were made in USSR.
