This film predates Triumph of the Will by four years. Many of the images that made Triumph of the Will such a powerful propaganda tool were being shaped in this movie. Leni Riefenstahl's eye for the powerful moment was incredible. The images she was honing in these films have been repeated in propaganda films ever since. She took the look of triumphal parades of the Caesars' in Rome and made the spectacles available to the general public at a local theater. Upon suspension of disbelief, the viewer must be swept into the vortex of feeling that their Fatherland is invincible. The propaganda value of this film was so complete that the Americans recruited Frank Kapra to produce the five, Why We Fight, films to inspire Americans to prepare for victory when the war came.
