This is a Klein Tools VDV Scout Pro 3 (Model VDV501-851), a professional-grade tester for voice, data, and video cables. Used but not frequently, I've had for about a year and mostly did residential fiber installs and some MDUs. It was very handy when doing MDUs in identifying the location of problems in ethernet connection junctions and lines. It has wider uses but this is what I can say it work well doing.

  • Length Measurement: Uses capacitance method to measure up to 2,000 feet (610 m) with an accuracy of +/- 5%. Voltage 
  • Protection: Designed to withstand up to 66V DC or 55V AC on RJ and F-connector ports. 
  • Battery Life: Powered by a 9V alkaline battery; provides approximately 50 hours of active use (without backlight). 
  • Other Key Features: Hub Blink Mode, Tone Generator & Backlit Display 

What is included was also included when originally purchased new - including the battery that is the original but still functional. The kit includes: 
(1) Scout Pro 3 Tester with a backlit LCD screen. 
(1) Self-Storing Test + Map Remote (#1) located at the bottom of the unit. 
(5) LanMap RJ45 Locator Remotes for identifying network runs. 
(5) CoaxMap F-Connector Locator Remotes for identifying video runs. 
(1) Coax F-Connector (Female-to-Female) barrel adapter.

FYI - no case was originally included

Great condition - functional, just some light cosmetic wear. The foam pad with the locator remotes has a empty spot - nothing is missing, it was always just an empty hole.
