Antique Unmarked German Plates Pair Reticulated Pierced Purple Pansy Gold 7"

PURPLE PANSIES & PIERCED PORCELAIN! ANTIQUE GERMAN STYLE RETICULATED PLATES

THE ITEM Add a brilliant splash of genuine Victorian artistry to your home with this beautiful matching pair of antique porcelain plates! Dating to the turn of the 20th century (c. 1890-1910) and manufactured in the classic German/Bavarian export style, these 7-inch plates feature a beautiful scalloped edge with distinct, segmented crosshatch (windowpane) reticulated pierced panels.

The spaces between the piercing are decorated with raised gold scrollwork, while the centers showcase a charming transfer motif of colorful purple and yellow pansies, highlighted with hand-painted, raised white enamel accents. Historically repurposed as "ribbon plates" (woven with silk and hung on walls), this pair is perfect for adding historical charm to your china cabinet or a shabby-chic gallery wall!

PROVENANCE Fresh to the market! This genuine antique piece was recently acquired from a private, multi-generational estate in historic Woodstown, New Jersey. It has been carefully preserved in a local South Jersey china cabinet for decades and is now ready to continue its story in your home.

CONDITION NOTES Good Antique Condition. Defects: No chips, cracks, or hairlines. The central floral pansy transfers are vibrant, intact, and colorful. The porcelain body is clean. Please note: There is noticeable rubbing and significant fading to the gold gilding on the reticulated rim and the inner raised scrollwork, which is completely consistent with 100+ years of age and handling. Please carefully review all high-resolution photos to fully appreciate this authentic antique pair!
