Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ for over 25 years I’ve been traveling throughout France and Europe sourcing the most special antique and vintage treasures, and these old marbelized papers are such a joy to uncover.

This listing is for one antique marbelized paper fragment measuring approximately 7 inches long by 4.5 inches wide. Each piece is being sold individually.

I have many others from this wonderful group ~ to see more from this collection simply search my store for “ marbled ” and they will appear.

These are genuinely old papers, most likely dating to the mid to late 19th century, originally used as bookbinding endpapers or decorative covers. The traditional marbling process involves floating pigments on a bath and carefully combing or manipulating the surface to create intricate patterns before transferring the design to paper. No two are ever exactly alike.

I LOVE the way these papers stir my imagination!! Each one feels like a tiny abstract painting.

They are a lovely medium weight paper and are perfect for framing, collage, journaling, book arts, or simply tucking into a vignette on a shelf. They bring beautiful texture and history into farmhouse, shabby, chateau chic, and rustic home decor interiors.

CONDITION:
This antique paper has gentle signs of time and use. The photographs are your guide ! A rare and wonderful treat!!! Expect light edge wear, minor creasing, or small marks consistent with age and having once been bound into a book.

I love preserving and passing along these small fragments of history. Using antique papers in modern homes is such an ecofriendly way to decorate ~ honoring artistry of the past while giving it new life today. A true antique to be passed down from generation to generation.
