Wonderful , VERY rare find! This textile is an antique French feather quilt dating 1870! I've only ever found 2 intact in my entire career! This textile has an inner layer that contains the feathers and the outer layer is the most wonderful red ground Rococo fabric!! ~*~ One side is more faded than the other ~ this textile is just lovely! ~ They were kept at the base of the bed and pulled up for chilly nights ~*~ Original as found condition ~ wonderful!!
MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures about 53 inches wide by 47 inches long. ~
CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with storage dust. There is an L shaped tear on one side that penetrates the layer holding the feathers, so this will certainly need repair! Each side has some marks , stains, and some lovely hand mends!!~ I recommend dry cleaning this textile ~ Condition reflected in the price ~ A WONDERFUL find, and ideal for anyone that understands that the signs of time and use are often inherent in these wonderful antique textiles ~*~
