Extremely rare 1977 Yamaha SX800B in 100% original and excellent condition. These rare beauties were known as the "Devil's Head" and were only made from 1976-1978. They feature 3 rip roaring single coil noiseless pickups on a Fender Scale but with a Theodore feel. Artists like Rory Gallagher and Tommy Bolin were noted players of the SX800.
The nut measures 1.68", the first fret depth is .85" and it grows to .97" at the 12th on a Gibson-like D carve. Not a baseball bat, more like a V2 59 carve. There's a familiar 1V, 2T and a 5-way layout. The pickups are amazing. Bright but warm, aggressive yet dynamic. They all read around 7.4 ohms and they all impress. 8.4 lbs. Comes safely packed in the original Yamaha hard case in the photos. This beauty received a fret level, polish, and intonation on a fresh set of nickel 10-46. The neck is straight with no wonkiness and the truss rod works as it should. No disappointments.
