An original lithograph on vellum by Agnes Martin (1912–2004), titled Love, printed in colour in 2000.

This work reflects one of Martin’s late minimalist compositions, characterised by delicately structured horizontal bands and subtle tonal variation. The restrained palette and quiet rhythm embody the contemplative visual language for which the artist is widely celebrated.

Love is derived from Martin’s 1999 body of work, a period in which she refined her signature format of horizontal bands into some of the most distilled and contemplative compositions of her career.

Agnes Martin is regarded as one of the most important figures in post-war abstraction. Her work is held in the permanent collections of major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Guggenheim Museum, Tate, and the National Gallery of Art.
