Original German WWI Honour Cross (Hindenburg Cross), combatant version with crossed swords, dated 1914–1918. This example retains its correct original Imperial black-white-red ribbon and displays attractive natural bronze patina from age. Reverse shows maker mark “32” for R.V. Pforzheim, a known manufacturer of period awards.
The Honour Cross was instituted in 1934 as Germany’s official commemorative award for World War I service. Combatant examples with swords were issued to frontline veterans. Condition is very good overall. Medal shows honest age toning and light handling wear consistent with period use. Ribbon shows minor fraying and age wear but remains original and displayable. Guaranteed original period item.
