Up for sale is a vintage early model CE24 electric guitar, purchased used around 2002 from Kurosawa Gakki in Ochanomizu. While not a 10-top, it features a subtle tiger eye finish that exudes a cool, understated vibe—subjectively very stylish. This model is a variation of the Custom series, sharing specifications except for the maple bolt-on neck, offering a faster attack, tighter tone, and clearer sound, making it well-suited for rock. The guitar provides impressive sustain and ease of play, reminiscent of a Gibson Les Paul, but with a unique character.
The body shows signs of age, including cracks near the neck joint on the back, and various scratches and wear consistent with a well-used instrument. The neck profile is WideThin, with approximately 40-50% fret remaining. The fretboard has some wear, which may affect low action setups. The truss rod is barely adjusted and still has room for fine-tuning. The pickups are original: HFS in the bridge and Vintage Bass in the neck, with a modified phase switch for a sharper, cut sound in the middle position. The switch cover has been replaced with a white one due to damage.
The case is quite old, missing the key, and the spring latch mechanism no longer functions automatically, requiring manual opening. The color tone appears more subdued and darker than in the photos, which have been updated for accuracy. Overall, this guitar has a rich history and character, perfect for collectors or players seeking a vintage instrument with a unique aesthetic.
