The medal was awarded to Richard Edmund Dusgate Dusgate of 46th squadron Royal Flying Corps.
The medal is named to 2 LIEUT R E DUSGATE
Richard Edmund Dusgate was the son of the Lord of the Manor, Richard Dusgate Dusgate, who resided at Fring Hall, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
The local church has an RFC memorial to Richard Edmund Dusgate, and also his father Richard Dusgate Dusgate, which is shown in the photo’s.
Officer Dusgate died of wounds in a German field hospital on the 19th December 1917 aged 20 years.
The medal is in good condition, with some tarnishing to the left hand side of the naming as shown in the photographs.
