Vintage 1930s-40s MARX US Army JUMPIN JEEP Tin Toy Litho Printed Wind-up Needs TLC Missing 2 Heads
Here is a colorful little litho printed tin Toy US Army Jeep, made by the Marx Co. of New York. It has the printed MAR logo on one side along with a large 'JUMPIN JEEP' printed on both sides of the hood. This is a wind-up toy not in working order, in that the key turns and makes sounds, although it does not move or actually move or jump the jeep as the spring seems to be broken. The wheels are in good shape and spin freely. Missing parts include the two heads of the gunners in the back seat. The windshield frame is bent and needs to be reshaped. There also seems to be a rough old repair on the hubcap on one of the wheels and the undercarriage has a slightly detached bent section as pictured.
Measurements are 7-7/8" long x 4-1/2" width x 4-3/8" height and it weighs about 15 ounces. The cosmetic condition is pretty good with surface wear, corrosion and the previously mentioned bent windshield, under carriage and missing heads.
This piece would make a great addition to a personal collection.
