Up for bid is an original WW 2 German M42 helmet. After the war this helmet was used by the Norwegian Army. The markings in the shell are hard to read under the paint. There is an “-E—“ on the left side, presumably an “EF”. The size is probably a 64. The lot number on the back appears to be “1921”. With the marker mark and lot number in 2 locations, this would indicate an earlier, mid-war M42 helmet. It comes complete with a Norwegian liner. Keep as-is, or use it for a restoration.
The shell is in great shape with no dents and only very light surface rust in spots.
