A Word about Silver!
It will
tarnish. Silver tarnishes because it
reacts with sulfur-containing gases present in the air, forming a dark layer of
sulfide on the surface of the metal (reference AI) …essentially, silver is “oxidizing”
when it encounters sulfur compounds.
My pieces
have been in storage for at least a decade (the premiere release of the Hobbit
Movie was 2012), ostensibly in airtight containers, but air always finds a way
in unless the container holding the item is hermetically sealed. Suffice to say my goods were not hermetically
sealed and therefore, I have notice tarnish on a few pieces while others shine
like new money.
Cleaning
Silver
The best way
to clean silver is to begin with a clean soft cloth and gently buff the piece. I
recommend not using a chemical because a chemical solution can quicky ruin
silver if left in contact for more than a seconds. Remember, you are not
cleaning your grandmas’ silver serving platter this is fine jewelry, and one
second in a cleaning solution and immediately running cold water over it will do
the job; if you chose that course. To be
safe gently buff with a clean soft cloth, I think you will be happy with the
results. I do not believe any of my pieces will require a chemical solution.
All
jewelry is non-returnable.
The pictures
attached to the listing is not the item you will receive. The pieces I sell are
in the original wrappings and some wraps are opaque, and I will not open any
packages. Pieces double wrapped in paper and plastic are less likely to
oxidize. I will show the item you will receive;
it will be the last picture in the listing.
Thank you for looking.
