Item up for bid is an impressive vintage trumpet marked as being made by C.G. Conn with a model name of Director and a marking of "18B" on the leadpipe. This piece is marked with a serial number of S11781 on the back of the second valve. Item was found with a Conn marked mouthpiece that has a silver toned finish that does not match the rest of the trumpet. We have been unable to remove the mouthpiece and it is effectively stuck. The mouthpiece body shows some surface metal wear and is heavily tarnished. Item was found without a case and will not come with one. Edge of the bell exhibits a very slight bend.

The rear (third) finger button is missing a mother of pearl finger pad on top. All buttons depress and return as expected. Item has no water key installed that we can see. New owner should expect that any and all gaskets, pads, corks, etc will need to be replaced. Trumpet has a brass tone finish which shows heavy finish wear, tarnish and patina. Some areas show a different tone metal under where surface has worn so we believe this to be a brass lacquer finish over another (unknown to us) base metal. Item would benefit from a complete detail cleaning and polish. Bell measures 5" across while entire instrument measures 19" in length from start of leadpipe to bell edge.
