Description: A spectacular polished slab of Binthalya Opal, a rare, pastel-hued opalised radiolarite originating from Binthalya Station in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia. Geologically, Binthalya Opal is a fine-grained, siliceous ocean sediment that has undergone opalisation, resulting in its distinctive banded and colourful appearance. This material is considered rare, making existing specimens highly sought after by collectors. The front of this particular slab has been polished to a mirror finish.
