This ornament was purchased directly from Virginia Metalcrafters by me in 1992. It has been on our Christmas tree every year. We realized this year that we had many more treasured ornaments than we had tree space. It is in as-new condition as the photos show.
Virginia Metalcrafters was a renowned manufacturer based in Waynesboro, Virginia, specializing in high-quality, sand-cast metal decorative accessories and historic reproductions in brass, iron, and aluminum. Famous for collaborating with museums like Colonial Williamsburg, they produced items such as trivets, candlesticks, Christmas ornaments and fireplace tools.
Key Aspects of Virginia Metalcrafters:
Many of their clients, like Colonial Williamsburg found other suppliers in India but the ornaments are now brass plated steel and are, in my opinion, nowhere near the quality of the Virginia Metalcrafters sand-casted brass.
The ornament in this offer is called the Charles II Ornament. See Information sheet in the gallery.
