This unique, fully serviced, stunning Omega Seamaster Arrowhead Two-Tone Dial Automatic watch is in excellent condition. The watch has the legendary movement cal.501 housed in a stainless steel case. The movement was serviced on 6th January 2026, and a lucky future owner will benefit from a good power reserve. This movement is universally acclaimed to be one of the best self-winding calibres produced in-house by Omega of all time. The 501 calibres entered production in 1955, and this example is from that production run. This calibre has 20 jewels, and over one million movements of this family have been produced, but only 397,500 of calibre 500 & 501. Omega Seamaster was introduced in 1948 as one of three ‘Master’ watches for special missions. The mission here would be underwater. As we all know, Seamaster eventually was also worn by a very special 007 agent. The Seamaster model was, in essence, an evolution from the rugged pilot’s watch produced earlier for the RAF and many other air forces. It was supposed to be capable of withstanding rough use and still remain stylish. Designed by the talented Marc Favre, it effectively represents a distillation of all the knowledge that Omega accumulated in the area of self-winding movement technology in the post-war period. “Omega Watch Co. Swiss” is signed on the rotor. The rotor bridge also features the wording “Nineteen 19 Jewels”, while the calibre number 501 is stamped on the plate. The watch measures 34mm without the crown and 42mm lug to lug. The caseback has a Seamaster writing and reference No. 2846-1SC. The expertly refinished two-tone dial has silver arrowhead faceted reliefs - hour markers with lovely original Omega Dauphine hands. The Omega original seconds hand is also silver. The Omega Clover crown is original and accurate to the period - obviously also signed with the Omega logo. The watch is fitted with a dark brown leather strap to complement its classic aesthetic. The watch will come in a new wooden presentation box. We give the future owner a 3-month warranty for peace of mind. Please study the pictures carefully, as these are at high magnification and reveal all imperfections that are naturally present on any vintage watch.
