Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Wedding Basket (3-Tier)
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of Chinese folk art. This is a traditional tiered wedding basket (also known as a dowry basket or betrothal basket), likely dating from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period (circa 1900–1930s).
Historically, these baskets were used to carry gifts, food, or ceremonial items between the families of the bride and groom. Today, they make stunning decorative pieces for storing small items, sewing supplies, or simply as a rustic accent in a living room.

- Construction: Woven split bamboo over a wood frame, coated in a traditional red lacquer (symbolizing good luck and joy).
- Design: Features a distinct "brick" weave pattern on the tiered sides.
- Structure: Consists of three stacking compartments plus a fitted lid.
- Handle: Large fixed wooden handle with a metal hook/pin mechanism at the top to secure the lid.
