This listing is for the hand-drawn original art to One(1) 'Tumbleweeds' daily comic strip by Tom K. Ryan. The subject of this nice piece is a Bug Hotel. This is an early Lew Little strip.
Tumbleweeds was first published September 6, 1965 under the distribution of the Lew Little Syndicate. Lew Little was known as a pioneer in comic strip syndication prominent in the discovery of Morrie Turner's 'Wee Pals' and Jim Davis' 'Garfield'. He was known for giving aspiring talents their break into the field and moving them under larger syndicates when their reputations were established. Tumbleweeds was published under Lew Little from 1965 through mid-1967 when it was moved to the Tribune and Register Syndicate. Lew Little versions are rarely offered to the public and command a significant premium.
This nice piece of artwork is a three-panel on thick bristol board and roughly measures 5 1/2" x 18".
Please look over the pic carefully, it is in good condition but does show a stain in the upper left corner. This is an extremely collectable piece of art.
